Again, ATI's 4.11 CATALYST drivers feature a DOOM 3-specific optimisations via the CATALYST A.I settings. Running them showed no discernible difference in image quality but a healthy bump in performance, making DOOM 3 competitive on an X800 XT PE card.
NVIDIA's cards still rule the roost, but the gap closes markedly when AA/AF are added in. ASUS' AX800 XT PE/2DHT exhibits GeForce 6800 GT-like performance.
