Presentation, Bundle and Manual
All of the boards in Leadtek's A400 series utilise similar packaging, so with that in mind we'll focus on the packaging found with the A400 Ultra here. The box art for these boards features a king (I think?) - He doesn't look like the kind of guy to be a video card enthusiast from here, but it takes all sorts I suppose. It also makes mention of the impressive bundle, which we'll talk about shortly, and a number of awards that the part has won.The rear of the box features the usual list of specifications and PR blurb that you'd expect of any video card.
Bundle
Both the Leadtek A400 Ultra and GT TDH come complete with a great bundle. Let's start by looking at what you get with the Ultra variant.Aside from the board itself, you find yourself with a comprehensive selection of cables - Two Molex splitters (one for each of the boards two Molex connectors - NVIDIA advise plugging each Molex connector into its own rail on the PSU, although the second connector is only required for overclocking), a DVI to VGA converter, and composite and S-Video out cables. The package also comes with two manuals, one a quickstart guide and the other a more comprehensive affair, focusing on driver and software usage. Which brings us to the real jewel in Leadtek's crown - The software bundle. These A400 boards feature no less than four full games - Gun Metal, Big Mutha Truckas (There's a play on words in there somewhere), and two big-hitting titles - A DVD copy of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and two CDs containing Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time. This last title in particular is a great choice to show off a DirectX 9 video card, and the inclusion of both this and the latest Splinter Cell title is most welcome.
Leadtek's installation CD-ROM is not to be sniffed at either, containing as it does NVIDIA's ForceWare 61.20 drivers, DirectX 9.0b, online manuals and three pieces of software - WinFast DVD (for DVD playback), WinFast PVR (to use your PC as a video recorder of sorts) and Leadtek's WinFox system utility.
Looking at the A400 GT, we find a similarly impressive bundle - The only omissions in comparison to the Ultra is the inclusion of a single Molex splitter rather than two due to the single Molex connector nature of the GT, and the lack of a DVI to VGA splitter.
