UT2004

UT2004 is a strange benchmark in that it's hugely system-limited with high-end video cards. That's especially true when no AA/AF is applied. The above graph is also a touch misleading. It shows 3 NVIDIA-based cards all on a performance par. ATI's RADEON X800 XT appears to be consistently slower through the resolutions. That's almost entirely down to the subsystem used, which was a Pentium 4 560 CPU/i925X motherboard. 3 GeForce AGP cards were all benchmarked on an Athlon 64 3500+/nForce3 setup.

The graph becomes even more interesting when 4x AA/8x AF is introduced. NV40 cards' performance drops as resolution is increased; ATI's stays around the same. The moral of this little story is that a hugely fast CPU is required to get the most out of UT2004, more so when using high-end cards.
