Doom 3

I accelerate Doom3 using the default AFR mode at both High Quality and Ultra Quality settings, over a quartet of resolutions.

High Quality

Doom3 High Quality

6800 GT shadows Ultra closely across all tests. And it's that shadowing that makes things particular attractive in favour of the GT. I'll track the price-performance shortly so you can see what I mean.

Ultra Quality

Doom3 Ultra Quality

In Ultra quality mode the graph is scarily similar to the High Quality graph, the only difference being the ultimate performance. No compression on Doom3's normal maps is the reason why, the data footprint of the game overflowing the available texture memory by an even larger factor, something that's exacerbated by the application of anti-aliasing.
