D3D Rightmark and 3DMark05 Fillrate
Using profile tweaking, it's possible to force the driver to swap SLI modes with Rightmark. Let's plot AFR, SFR and single GPU performance and see what comes out.Rightmark

As measured by Rightmark, SLI in either mode returns significantly reduced scores in the fillrate tests with only the geometry performance increasing by a factor that you'd expect, in AFR mode. It's not the case that performance is actually affected that badly, it's just that some traditional measures of fillrate and pixel shading performance, like Rightmark, aren't accelerated that well by current SLI drivers.
That doesn't mean all tools are. Here's 3DMark05 in single-GPU and AFR mode, measuring fillrate.
3DMark05 Fillrate

With support for 3DMark05 in the driver, whereas profiles for Rightmark have to be setup manually, the scores returned are as you'd expect by AFR-accelerated rendering. Plotting geometry performance as measured by 3DMark05 shows similar gains. Indeed, AFR is the only real way to accelerate geometry performance by such a massive factor (nearly twice).
