Fillrate and shading

I'll take a look at fillrate and shader power before embarking on benchmarks in earnest. Having prior knowledge of both will better aid an understanding of how and why Inno3D's 6600 GT 128MB card achieves a certain level of benchmarking performance.

Using 3DMark03's single-texturing fillrate test first, we see that the card is some way off its potential 4000MPixels/s fillrate. I'd have expected it nearer the 2GPixels/s mark. The reasoning perhaps lies with the use of 8 pixel pipelines that squeeze data into 4 ROPs.

Multi-texturing fillrate's actually very efficient. The GPU is working well when at full capacity.

Superb Pixel Shader 2.0 performance, comparatively speaking.

ATI's 6 vertex shaders make short work of this test, even outshading a GeForce 6800 GT.
