Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory performance
We alluded to the benefits that the ForceWare 158.19 may offer over previous drivers. Nowhere is that more evident in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, where the identically-clocked ASUS GeForce 8800 GTS 320 is around 20 per cent faster than the ECS '320 featuring the 97.02 set.
Indeed, the performance increase when invoking HDR is even more pronounced, at over 22 per cent, suggesting driver optimisations galore. We've manually compared to output from both drivers and found them to be identical, too.
Performance, then, for a sub-£200 graphics card is very good.
