Far Cry performance

To put the resolutions into perspective, 1920x1200 is the native setting for 24in LCD panels, so it's high-quality gaming in every sense.

What we note is that the newer drivers offer a touch more performance, as evinced by the ASUS' slightly better average framerates when compared to the ECS model.

A second point of interest lies with the cards' framebuffers. The 320MiB-equipped GTS' performance dips a little lower than the GTS 640's, suggesting framebuffer limitations coming into play at 1900x1200 4xAA 8xAF.

Lastly, the HIS Radeon HD 2900 XT's performance is, frankly, sub-optimal given the architecture. AMD has already released a newer driver (amd_8.38_rc7_xp_br47274) than we tested with and it will be interesting to see how it improves matters, if at all.

Taking all that into account, the ASUS GeForce 8800 GTS 320 provides commendable framerates at both settings.
