Overclocking

There are two things to consider when it comes to overclocking Inno3D's iChill GeForce GTX 980 Ti Black. Firstly, the card is already boosting to over 1,400MHz in its out-the-box state, and secondly the 8+6 power configuration suggests massive gains may not be the card's forte.

That proved to be true on our sample, as we ran into lock-ups when we added anything more than 67-odd MHz to the core. Still, we were able to achieve stability with core boost dialled-in to 1,371MHz and memory to an effective 7,880MHz.

Pulling every last drop of performance from the GPU, enthusiasts will be interested to hear that the Inno3D card was actually boosting to 1,509MHz with the mild overclock in place. The performance gain isn't huge but it's enough to make the quickest card in our line-up that little bit quicker.
