Far Cry performance
As expected, the GeForce 8800 Ultra benchmarks at around 12 per cent ahead of a stock-clocked 8800 GTX, with a Radeon X1950 XTX providing two-thirds of the Ultra's performance.
Bumping up the resolution to 2560x1600 negatively impacts upon GeForce 8800 GTS 640 performance, pushing framerates down to an unacceptable level on this FPS title. We're impressed by just how well the venerable Radeon X1950 XTX is able to cope at the QWXGA setting.
