Overclocking

The good news for overclockers is that PowerColor's R9 390X Devil does arrive with additional headroom in tow. Using no extra voltage, we were able to increase core frequency to 1,190MHz and memory to an effective 6,600MHz. Going any further on either count with stock voltages resulted in lock-ups, but the above-pictured speeds proved stable enough on our sample.

These are sort of frequencies required in order to beat a stock-clocked GeForce GTX 980 all ends up, though do be aware system-wide power consumption creeps past 400 watts with the overclock in place.
