Overclocking

We've experienced a good amount of overclocking headroom on other GTX 960s, but KFA2's EXOC has raised the bar further. With no added voltage, the card was happy to run with base and boost clocks of 1,380MHz and 1,443MHz, respectively, while memory reached an effective 8,400MHz.

A handsome return for very little effort, and our logs reveal that the GPU was boosting as high as 1,543MHz during our overclocked benchmark runs.

Are the factory overclocks really that important? Given the amount of headroom available, end users accustomed to overclocking may be inclined to buy cheaper cards and raise speeds manually. With just a few minutes of tweaking, we were able to increase the performance of the KFA2 GTX 960 EXOC to the tune of almost 15 per cent.
