Far Cry performance

All the midrange cards in this test burn through Far Cry without raising a sweat. The cool-running Sapphire ULTIMATE beats the ASUS EAX1950PRO and the reference board by the slightest of margins. That's to be expected, as it has faster-running memory. In turn all of the ATI cards are swifter than the NVIDIA GeForce 7900GS in the 1280x1024 test

With the resolution increase to 1600x1200 and AA disabled all the cards, once again, burn through the Far Cry benchmark with ease. The Sapphire ULTIMATE pulls away from the other cards a little more, but all the cards are still producing monstrous framerates, including the GeForce 7900GS, which can still pump out an impressive 80FPS here.
