Performance

3DMark reveals a reasonable jump in performance that equates to a rise of four per cent; modest and repeatable.

Bioshock Infinite showed the largest gain in performance, rising an impressive 14 per cent simply by switching to the Omega driver.

Crysis 3 is one of the most demanding titles currently available; even the highest-end single GPUs struggle, so an extra few frames per second do help in making the experience smoother.

Grid Autosport revealed a slight decline in average frame-rate albeit with a boost in the minimum FPS. The result was easily replicated several times and we aren't quite sure why this occurs. However the change is unnoticeable in the game.

Tomb Raider is already a very efficient title for AMD Radeon GPUs, but even so, an extra three FPS was squeezed out on both the minimum and average frame-rates.

Total War: Rome II showed an increase of 7.5 per cent to the average framerate; a modest incremental improvement that's present in most of the games we've tested. We don't imagine anyone is going to complain about an extra five-to-10 per cent of free performance?
