Basic peformance is quite good in 3DMark2001SE. What'll blur the issue, quite literally, is just how close XGI's top-of-the-range card gets to a reference image.

3DMark03, on the face of it, shows the XGI to be the same ballpark as ATI's 9800 XT. Examination of 3D output, albeit it with 4X AF, leaves a little to be desired.

Look at the quality of textures on the turtle's head. ATI's shot has far more detail.
