RTCW: Enemy Territory's based on a modified Quake III engine. That's why the v9520/TD can do quite well at the lowest tested setting. These are the kind of games the card is partial to, that is, non-DX9. Sounds strange when the card trumpets DX9 compatibility at every instance, but it just doesn't have enough throughput or memory bandwidth to give us both realistic-looking graphics (DX9) and fluid framerates (60FPS).

Call of Duty

  • Pixel and Vertex Shaders: No
  • Heavily modified Q3 engine with high-resolution textures
  • FSAA and AF set via control panel




The same, to a lesser extent, can be said about Call of Duty. Again, the key to decent performance would appear to be a lowering of quality settings.
