It's of little surprise that AOpen's Aeolus FX5900XT is quicker than the FX 5700 Ultra in each tested setting. Extra bandwidth, approximately another 8GB/s, looks favourably upon the XT when antialiasing and anisotropic filtering is applied.

Pretty much the same story in the DX9-laden 3DMark03. The AOpen card exhibits performance that is closer to the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB card than the FX 5700 Ultra. Our very first question is why would an informed purchaser consider the FX 5700 Ultra?.
