UT2003
  • Author: Epic
  • DirectX Class: 8.1
  • Pixel and Vertex Shaders: No
  • Other: High resolution textures show massive detail when aniso. is applied

The inevitable question of comparable IQ always seems to raise its head when speaking of Unreal Tournament 2003. However, for all intents and purposes of in-game play, it's difficult to discern between the two. The ASUS card continues to do well.

Serious Sam 2

  • Author: Croteam
  • DirectX Class: 8.1
  • Pixel and Vertex Shaders: No
  • Other: Uses OpenGL, supports quad pass multitexture and game applied aniso

Not much to say here other than the ASUS 9600XT/TVD is partial to some Serious Sam lovin' We've used a quality bias here to gain decent image quality. The game was eminently playable with 4x AA and 8x AF. In fact, we'd be happy with either of the three cards here, but the ASUS does seem to pull away when the going gets tough. SS2 was tested in OGL mode.
