Unreal Tournament 2003

  • Author: Epic
  • DirectX Class: 8.1
  • Pixel and Vertex Shaders: No
  • Other: High resolution textures show massive detail when aniso is applied

Being a DX8.1 class test, as expected the rival card is able to beat 9600XT, given a large memory bandwidth difference. Neither card does especially well at 1600x1200 with IQ applied, that still remains the domain of high end graphical hardware (or midrange cards with 256-bit memory busses).

Notes

While the trilinear filter bug in DirectX on the NV36 presents itself in UT2003, if you can see it while actively gaming and not staring at the screen or static screenshots, you have a better eye than me. Otherwise excellent on all cards, especially when 8 sample aniso is applied. Wow.
