Game Performance

Far Cry

Far Cry
Legend

The gains from the OC™ versions are measurable but minimal in our high-res Far Cry tests, versus the reference hardware. The BFG GeForce 7900 GTX OC™ takes both wins, and their 7900 GT and 7600 GT fall behind with ~64% and ~41% of that SKU's base performance, respectively.

We should see that with our other game tests, give or take. Let's see.

Quake 4

Legend

The 7900 GTX OC™ barely outruns the reference hardware at 1600x1200, but opens up a ~3% gap at 1920x1200, showing the advantage in running the higher clock, no matter how slim.

The two other OC™ boards do much the same versus their reference counterparts.

Expect gains all round from the overclocked BFG Tech boards, versus the reference parts. The clocks do buy you more performance when the boards are pushed.

SLI Scaling

SLI
Legend

SLI gives around 70% more performance in Far Cry, a well understood title supported by the driver using SFR rendering. So adding a second of any of the SKUs on test will add performance, with the understood SLI caveats of profile support, multi-monitor running and the like.
