Comanche 4

Comanche 4 now. Use of DX8 shaders will flex the Tyan's rendering muscles.

The benchmark scores were consistent over a number of runs. The Tyan G9600 Pro manages to keep up with the more expensive cards here. The 10FPS+ gap to the FX 5600 Pro was unexpected.

Forget the faster card's numbers for a second and concentrate on just how well the Tyan is doing. A better antialiasing and anisotropic filtering implementation, or is there something else at work ?.

The Achilles Heel, naturally, of any sub-10GB/s bandwidth card is always going to be bandwidth overload. That's exactly what our harshest setting does. We'll do well to remember that savage image settings isn't what this card is designed for.
