Power, temps and noise

Getting rid of that one SMX cluster certainly helps with power-draw, as our sample card pulls 30 fewer watts than a GTX 670 and 23 fewer than a Radeon HD 7950.

The GPU is programmed with a 95°C temperature threshold, where, once exceeded, it then begins to throttle the frequencies back. Tested on a warm day - ambient temperature 24.2°C - and inside a chassis, GTX 760 peaks at a very acceptable 81°C.

Most readers will know that the underlying GK104 die is a mid-range part. The basic cooler has no trouble keeping it relatively cool and quiet.
