Testing notes
We've tested from the grounds-up for this card, and the drivers are the very latest from both companies. We've seen fit to add the GTX 580 so that you can compare against three top-line Nvidia GPUs of their generation. It's only fair to include the three best single-GPU Radeons, as well, while throwing a joker in the mix and showing you just how performance has improved from the first DX11 card released well over three years ago, the Radeon HD 5870 1GB has been benchmarked.
We're going to focus on the GTX 780, GTX 680, and HD 7970 GHz in the per-second frame-rate graphs. Nvidia's latest card should be better, but you'll have to read on to see by how much.
