Benchmarks - Quake 3 Arena
Turning our attention to the gaming arena we firstly took a look at the old favourite Quake III. Unlike the theoretical tests we have looked at already in this review, Quake III produced the kind of results we were expecting from the new FX cards. The FX5600 shows the Ti4200 how to play and the FX5200 maintaining its gains on the Radeon. Activating the image quality functions from the driver control panel simply increased the FX cards performance gains. Clearly the new architecture is working well in Quake III.
