DiRT Showdown may be lacking the realism of previous games in the DiRT series, but it offers stunning graphics, intense action and good ol' demolition derby events.

We've bumped up the quality settings from 'High' to 'Ultra' for this round of testing. Ultra invokes extra graphical hurt by calling for global illumination, though NVIDIA claims that the method by which it is implemented is far from optimal.

The reason that NVIDIA doesn't like this test, aside from the fact that AMD worked closely with Codemasters, is that, on our test machine, the TITAN's performance is eclipsed by a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition card that costs less than half the price. Yup, it's (marginally) slower than the competitor's single-GPU card.

Looking at the big guns, even the GeForce GTX 690 has to bow down to the Club3D HD 7990 in this test. The Ultra preset really takes its toll on GeForces.

A fact underscored by the 5,760x1,080 results.
