Drivers
NVIDIA and ATi have both made excellent strides with respect to their drivers. Each new set gives us a greater compatibility and sometimes a new feature to toggle with. Using the 3.08 drivers on the CD, we get the following.
The main Xabre driver screen is pretty basic with just three configurable options.
A reasonable amount of calibration is available for you to fine-tune your display to your liking.
Driver modes are listed on a separate screen, detailing exactly what's being used at any one time. Here you can see the Xabre on a TFT screen at 1280x1024x32 60Hz.
More settings for playback.
Driver information page, along with the basic card specifications. You'll perhaps have noticed that no image enhancement options are available in the driver itself. For those to become available, you have to install the 3D Wizard that's present on the accompanying driver CD.
Just two options here; Full Scene Anti Aliasing and overclocking. Previous wizards have included the Eagle-Eye 'feature'. It allowed games to be rendered using either a wireframe or transparent effect. Certainly a contentious issue amongst many, I feel as if dropping that option was a good idea.
A neat overclocking utility.
