In addition to being able to accept (and tune) and output those AV signals, the AIW Radeon X1900 has a range of AV signal processing capabilities.
CATALYST 5.13 brought significant improvements in motion video processing - including de-interlacing, cadence detection and processing, and video signal enhancement and cleanup - to all Radeon X1000-series products, including AIWs.
Radeon X1000-series boards implement a set of technologies called Avivo, giving the X1K-series what ATI claim to be the world's best video and display quality on consumer-level graphics products.
CATALYST 5.13 was the first driver to unlock Avivo's ability in a large way, and we covered that here. It's an absolute must read, along with our Avivo technolgy piece, here.
Therefore with X1K-series AIWs, and indeed other X1K-series products with a Theater 200, you get Avivo ability and what's available for VIVO processing on the Theater. The 200 has its own 2D comb filter for processing composite video, it's own video cleanup hardware (that can additionally use the GPU for assist) and component video processing ability to boot.
AIW Radeon X1900 Input Video Pipeline
The input video pipeline for AIW Radeon X1900 is a simple and logical one.Video can enter the AIW subsystem via the first two stages. GPU assist is used as needed (and we'll talk more about that shortly) and Avivo is responsible for output.
It's clear that the product is built with video processing in mind first, although that doesn't mean audio is a second class AIW citizen. While the audio processing ability of the Theater is limited to stereo analogue audio from TV broadcasts and AV feeds, it does have hardware AV sync for keeping demuxed streams and synchronised.
3D Specification
AIW Radeon X1900 is powered by the very same ATI R580 GPU as the basic Radeon X1900s. We covered that GPU in decent depth here. You can see that it's a fragment processing behemoth, even at the AIW's 500MHz engine clock.Clocks and memory size are what differentiate it from the XT and XTX basic products, and those clocks are largely defined by the cooling solution that ATI deem key to All-In-Wonder products.
With the VC16 DRAMs, good for 500MHz rated frequency, clocked at 490MHz (487MHz measured, in CCC), that gives the AIW Radeon X1900 the following vitals. It's compared to the Radeon X1900 XTX and Radeon X1800 XT.

The engine clock means an X1900 XTX at 650MHz is theoretically 30% faster when it's not memory size or bandwidth bound. And versus the Radeon X1800 XT, which sports a R520 with 625MHz engine clock, you can see the tripled fragment processing rates of R580 at work.
Therefore the AIW Radeon X1900 is still well equipped to play modern games, and versus the AIW Radeon X1800 XL it'll eventually replace, it's significantly faster when pixel shading.
