Three-screen benchmarks - Crysis 2

Crysis 2 may not have lived up to the expectations set by its predecessor, but with the DX11 patch and high-res textures, it's a gorgeous-looking game.

Here's one benchmark where the Sapphire HD 7970 TOXIC has to play second fiddle to the GTX 680 OC.

Per-second framerates vary wildly. The benchmark runs through a sequence as fast as possible, hence the shorter lines for the GTX 680 OC and TOXIC cards.

This is interesting. One would say the Sapphire TOXIC is a shade slower than the GTX 680 OC. However, zoom into the actual frame times and it produces a greater proportion of sub-33ms frames than the NVIDIA card. For what it's worth on a play-through basis, the game feels just a bit smoother on the Radeon. It's difficult to state categorically whether the extra framebuffer is coming into play.
