Performance
Stock Clocks
Stock clocks are 600/900, as stated earlier, and you can see the clock step under 3D mode, from the default 275/600, here (large .png).At those clocks, the EVGA has a useful performance increase compared to the XFX reviewed a few days ago.
Between 5% and 9% over the reference GTX 512 can be seen pretty much across the board when you push the card at high resolution, and our Splinter Cell test shows that.
Overclocked Clocks
Pushing the card using RivaTuner results in even more frequency fruit to pick, again at near total silence because of the cooling hardware. 638/920 were the final clocks obtained that would run any and all tests with no problems or artifacts. You can see the stepping between 2D and 3D, here.At that clock level, with the GPU core some 16% higher than the reference hardware, performance increases of between 10 and 15% can be seen almost everywhere in modern games, especially at high resolution and with IQ enhancements on.
Our Call of Duty 2 test shows some of that increase in real-world FRAPS testing, during actual gameplay.
