3DMark 11 is the latest version of this hugely-popular synthetic benchmark. Making use of DX11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading, it provides modern-day results and is available as a free download.

We know the GTX 670 will benchmark fairly close to the GTX 680's levels, and we also know that the GTX 680 is faster than either AMD's Radeon HD 7970 or HD 7950 in most titles.

Starting off with 3DMark 11, GTX 670 beats out either aforementioned AMD card and gets reasonably close to GTX 680. The table spells it out when this new Kepler GPU is compared with the best single-GPU cards on the market.

Just under 10 per cent slower than GTX 680 sounds about right, given what we know about the architecture trade-offs. Importantly for NVIDIA, GTX 670 is a smidge faster than AMD's best 7-series card. Comparing generations, GTX 670 is over 50 per cent nippier than GTX 570.
