Overclocking
We know that the Radeon HD 7870 can breeze past its 1,000MHz core frequency and there tends to be a good amount of overclocking headroom on memory, too.
No surprise, then, to find that the XFX card is able to run well above its default level. With no bump in voltage, we quickly had the card running at 1,175MHz and 5,900MHz on core and memory, respectively.
The bump in speed introduced no signs of instability and at these frequencies the XFX card delivers Radeon HD 7950-like performance in Aliens vs. Predator.
