Benchmarks - Crysis 2

Crysis 2 may not have lived up to the expectations set by its predecessor, but with the DX11 patch and high-res textures, it's a gorgeous-looking game.

If you've followed Radeon HD 7000-series reviews here on HEXUS you will know that the GCN architecture's heavy focus on tessellation and core efficiency plays well with Crysis 2. Performance is higher than one would expect if judged by specification alone. HD 7870 easily trumps the Radeon HD 6970 and takes its now-customary position between NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 580 and GTX 570.

Meanwhile, HD 7850 gives the HD 6950 a good spanking but, again, is sandwiched by the GeForce GTX 560 Ti cards. And if model-to-model comparisons are of interest, Radeon HD 7870 is around 20 per cent faster than HD 7850 in our tests thus far, save for Batman: Arkham City.
