It's also quieter than the reference effort when at full chat. Understand that the close grouping of a number of GPUs may make it appear to be much quieter; we had to rely on the noise meter for empirical evidence to back up the quietness claims, as both GPUs - XFX and reference - sounded similar to our ears.
