Achieving the considerable speeds mandated by KFA2 means that power-draw is comparatively high once some load is placed on the card.

These cards do without the power- and frequency-regulation technology found on high-end models, and stressing them via FurMark shows that GTX 550 Ti, when pushed, isn't particularly frugal.
