Aliens vs. Predator and Just Cause 2

Aliens vs. Predator

The standalone Aliens vs. Predator benchmark uses DX11 features such as hardware tessellation and advanced shadow sampling to draw and animate everyone's favourite xenomorph.

The four different-coloured bars denote performance from the three overclocked HD 6850s and the £175 Gigabyte GTX 460 SOC 1GB card.

Mild overclocks on all three partner HD 6850s means that performance doesn't increase a whole heap, and the trio of Radeon cards are sandwiched between two GTX 460 1GB GPUs.

Just Cause 2

We've recently begun playing this game and like it a lot. Keeping things comparable, NVIDIA-specific features such as the Bokeh filter and GPU water rendering are turned off.

Sapphire and PowerColor HD 6850s come in at 820MHz core and 4,400MHz memory - enough to push performance above a stock HD 5850 and very close to the Gigabyte card. The real big jump in performance comes from placing a GTX 480 or GTX 580 in the PCIe slot.
