Making an appearance when evaluating new architectures, we run the 'high' preset and note the GPU score as well as Test 4, which includes extensive use of the GPU's stream-out function and vertex and geometry shading ability.
3DMark Vantage paints an interesting picture. GTX 580 is significantly faster than GTX 480 and HD 5870 and is only a little slower than the twin-GPU HD 5970. Some FP16 love combined with faster speeds and more processing cores does the trick here. Going by the GPU score, here's how it breaks down:
