Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the latest addition to our testing suite. The game is set to maximum detail and a 30-second section is FRAPS'd whilst we run through the trenches, stumbling upon a bunch of enemy soldiers and letting rip.

Benchmarks

14 of the very best GPU configurations go head to head, and there's only one clear winner; Sapphire's Radeon HD 5970 TOXIC 4GB.

At the highest resolution, it's again 25 per cent superior to a stock Radeon HD 5970. AMD will also be enjoying the fact that Sapphire's latest is almost 13 per cent quicker than dual GeForce GTX 480s at 2,560x1,600.

The configuration that stands out from the crowd, however, is a pair of Radeon HD 5850s in CrossFire. At around £300 cheaper than Sapphire's latest beast, it offers impressive frame rates at all three resolutions.
