Testing at 2,560x1,600 8x AA
Let's crank up the load by using a 2,560x1,600 resolution and (a somewhat unrealistic) 8x AA setting. We've used only the four highest-performing GPUs here.


There's nothing in it, folks, as the gains are attributed to the clock-speed rather than frame-buffer.
A 2GB memory footprint is useful in cases the application requires significantly more than 1GB, obviously. Most modern games are designed to fit inside that latter figure, intimating one would need to run three-screen Eyefinity to, perhaps, see a meaningful difference.
