Introduction

Released in October 2009, AMD's Radeon HD 5770 GPU brought the DX11-totin' 5-series architecture to the mainstream market. Priced from £120 and rising to over £150 for 'all-but-the-kitchen-sink' models, Radeon HD 5770's underpinnings reveal that it's exactly half of a Radeon HD 5870 - and that's no bad thing.

We've taken a look at the reference design, followed that up with the ASUS Voltage Tweak and then passed judgement on Sapphire's custom-cooled Vapor-X.

MSI, however, reckons it can do the Radeon HD 5770 better than anyone else. To that end, it trotted out the HAWK Edition at the start of the month. Now we test MSI's claims of mid-range graphics hegemony.
