First up, the average frame-rate produced by the three cards is more than acceptable. GeForce GTX 260 is a significantly older GPU that's still pretty quick, especially at the £125 price point.

The overclocked ASUS HD 5770 pulls an extra 13 per cent over the stock card here.

The biggest gain is in H.A.W.X, pushing average frame-rates up by almost 22 per cent.

Looking back at the numbers, prior to the HD 5770's launch, we expected the ASUS VT's performance to constitute a stock card's. Perhaps a Radeon HD 5790, once yields improve, may well be introduced and ship with a 1GHz core and, say, 5,500MHz memory?

Coming back to the state of play today, even with ASUS' SmartDoctor technology, there is no guarantee that all cards will hit a 1GHz core and 5.7GHz memory. What's more, there is a price to pay for extra voltage-driven performance...
