Rendered at QHD or UHD resolutions and making use of DX12 technologies such as asynchronous compute, explicit multi-adapter and multi-threading, Time Spy is a modern 3DMark benchmark that hints at GPU potential in today's latest games.

The changes in driver explain why the Inno3D GeForce RTX 3080 is slower than the Founder Edition, even though it has a higher reported boost clock.

Perusing the logs highlights the X3 averages around 1,860MHz boost in games, compared with 1,900MHz for the FE and close to 2,000MHz for the MSI. The 456.71 driver is tempering core frequency to a much greater degree.

In other news, that massive cooler is more than a match for the 340W total card power.
