Overclocking
Might the Palit set itself apart in the overclocking stakes? Well, not quite. As it stands, the GamingPro OC's power target is limited to reference levels, and can't be raised through software. Such a limitation gives tinkerers less room to manoeuvre, though there is still some headroom to play with. An automated scanning tool quickly raises our sample's boost clock to 1,892MHz, while memory happily scaled to an effective 17.6Gbps.
It is a shame to see overclocking potential dampened on a card with a triple-fan cooler that can most probably handle the extra demand. Still, it's possible to eke out a few extra frames per second with very little effort.
