The £125 Radeon HD 4850 512MiB is over 40 per cent faster than the HD 3870 at the 1,680x1,050 setting. This lead increases to almost 50 per cent when running the DX10 code-path.

Radeon HD 4850 punches at the same level as a stock-clocked GeForce 8800 GTS 512, falling just behind a 9800 GTX.
