BFG's slightly-overclocked GeForce GTX 280 is just able to outrun the previous performance champ, GeForce 9800 GX2, at every resolution.
Perhaps our test isn't stringent enough, because the sub-£100 Radeon HD 3870 puts up a reasonable showing at a resolution-busting 2,560x1,600.
Bottom line? The GTX 280 is over 70 per cent faster than the previous single-GPU leader, the GeForce 9800 GTX.
