The overclocked GeForce 9600 GTs have the edge in Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, for both DX9 and DX10 code-paths.
Both Sapphire HD 3870 512MiB cards benchmark in near-identical fashion, intimating little driver-based difference.
The 1GiB-equipped HD 3850's larger framebuffer doesn't come into play here, and you would be better advised to opt for the £93 HD 3870 instead, as far as ATI cards are concerned.
