Power, Temperature and Noise
Going by what we've seen in-game, it is no surprise to find that power consumption between the Pulse and reference card is almost an exact match. Still, this remains one of the most frugal Radeons to date, which is nice to see.
Looking for a reason to pay the Pulse premium? Here's one. While running at similar speeds, the dual-fan Sapphire cooler is able to lower core temperature by up to 10 per cent. A healthy improvement, and don't be alarmed by the higher idle temp; that's due to the fans switching off at low load.
There's good news on the noise front, too, as the Pulse makes its way up the charts. Noise levels are improved over the reference design, however we feel as though there's scope to go even quieter; Sapphire's fan profile isn't the smoothest and we're looking forward to seeing which custom Radeon RX 5700 Series boards perform best in this regard. Will anyone manage sub-36dB when gaming?
