Looking at our benchmark numbers for Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, there's little to recommend the erstwhile mid-range champ, GeForce 8600 GTS.
The newer architectures from both NVIDIA and ATI trump it in every test. The GeForce 9600 GTs, whilst slower on paper when compared to the Radeon HD 3870, are around 10 per cent faster in this real-world test, and that matters when running the performance-taxing DX10 code-path.
