D3D RightMark 1.0.5.0 tests 3D basics such as pixel fillrate and pixel shading.
On average the 7800 GTX is 1.45 times as fast as the 6800 Ultra. Remember I mentioned that there's nearly 3x the MADD ALU power in G70 (in a GTX), compared to a 6800 Ultra? The pixel shader test in RightMark is almost 3 times faster on the GTX. Analysis of the shader code shows reliance on MUL and DOT instructions, something G70 is somewhat optimised for.
RTHDRIBL
When FP blending and filtering is relied on to produce the image, the 7800 GTX is some 1.7 times as fast as the 6800 Ultra.
3DMark05
With all the talk of 3DMark05 scores for 7800 GTX in the weeks running up to launch, I thought it'd be rude not to see how the hardware actually does. 7800 marks is the amusing target.
That's close enough for me. At 1600x1200 with 4AA and 8AF, the 7800 GTX is 50% faster than the 6800 Ultra.
