Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a DirectX10 benchmark that should, really, show performance improvements as we add GPUs. That's true with respect to NVIDIA's GX2, where above-single-card performance enhancement is 57 per cent at 1,680x1,050 and some 84 per cent at 1,920x1,200.

ATI's 'X2 doesn't seem to scale well here either, and ATI's driver team attributed the lack of benefit down to the game's engine.

In short, it's absolutely vital to know how an engine will scale with a particular company's four-GPU solution, because the nature of parallel GPU rendering is such that it's a hit-and-miss affair if four are used concurrently.
