Notes
The key lookouts are for the Radeon VII vs. the Radeon RX Vega 64 - a fight that it should win handsomely - and, more pertinently, against the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080. We have the out-of-the-box overclocked Founders Edition, priced at £749, as well as a Gigabyte model coming in for a bit less. Nvidia and its retail partners have revised pricing such that minor-overclocked models from the likes of EVGA and MSI are now selling for the same £650 fee as the Radeon VII.
Though not shown in the benchmark suite, we have also tested the Radeon VII, Radeon RX Vega 64, and GeForce RTX 2080 FE on Forza Horizon 4 and Battlefield V, because these two games will become a staple of the revised graphics suite for 2019.
We'd normally include a page on overclocking. That's missing in this review because, at the time of testing, AMD's Wattman does not apply enhanced frequencies correctly. We are awaiting a fix from AMD.
